Homeowners urged to insulate homes from price rises
Soaring energy bills mean that there has never been a better time to insulate your home, according to the National Insulation Association (NIA).
In the last week, both EDF Energy and British Gas have announced hikes to their energy tariffs, with rival provider set to follow suit in the next few weeks.
The hike from British Gas will push the annual bill for the average family on its dual fuel tariff up beyond £1,300.
Responding to the hikes, chief executive of NIA Neil Marshall urged homeowners to cut their bills by ensuring their homes are efficiently insulated.
He said: "Home insulation is the single most effective method of saving money on domestic energy bills - typically cutting around £275 off the annual heating bill.
"With fast-rising consumer costs in many other areas such as food and fuel, why wait a moment longer to put these money-saving measures into place?"
