Tips for cutting car insurance costs
A price comparison site has issued tips which could help drivers cut the cost of their insurance cover.
Peter Gerrard, head of insurance at moneysupermarket.com, was moved to advice motorists with money-saving tips by the fact that soaring petrol prices are making motoring more and more costly.
Chief among his recommendations is that young drivers opt to drive on their parents policies, which will enable them to pay a low premium.
Also approved was paying a higher voluntary extra, which will allow holders to gain a lower premium if they have to claim.
Finally, he recommended shopping around for the cheapest car insurance available by using price comparison sites.
Earlier this year MoneyExpert.com warned that car insurance providers are set to hike the cost of cover by ten per cent this year.
